More Firsts

It's been a big week of more firsts for our little mister.
One milestone I have been anxious for him to master is sitting up on his own.  He's finally figured it out! This means much less frustration for him and more free hands for me.  He was constantly frustrated at having to lay on his back or tummy and was totally over sitting in the bumbo.  His wobbles have finally turned into strong muscles and a whole new world of playtime has opened up to him.
Yesterday he waved for the very first time.  We were at the Post Office and the lady helping us waved hello to him and he just lifted up his arm and gave her a wave and a giggle.  I told her he'd never done that before and when it was time to leave she got him to wave bye bye.  This morning he waved bye bye to his daddy as we sent him off to work (then started crying when we closed the door...sniff).
Lastly, a new tooth popped through today.  He now has two bottom teeth, but they're not together.  It goes tooth - space - tooth.  Looks so funny!
So happy it's Friday, we've had a long week of plumbing disasters leading to ripped open walls and now wall repair and painting.  Oh the joys of owning an 80 something year old home!
Happy Weekend!

Birthday Brunches and Baby Swings

We celebrated my birthday over the long labor day weekend (thanks mom for birthing me over a holiday weekend).  Thankfully my favorite restaurant now serves brunch so we were able to continue our tradition of celebrating my birthday at Woodberry Kitchen.  We were supposed to go at 11am but somebody refused to take a nap so the nice people at Woodberry Kitchen were able to accommodate us at 12:30 instead.  Birthday brunch not ruined!  The food was DELISH (as usual) and luckily the weather was perfect.  Duke was so good and we all had a fun and relaxing afternoon.
We also discovered that our teeny tiny baby is turning into a little boy and he now enjoys swings and slides at the park.  Huh??!!  Looks like I must find a walkable playground with a baby swing to add to our daily agenda.  I just can't believe what a big boy he is so quickly turning into.

Thanks RG and Duke for such a fun birthday!  I love my little family so much.

Love,
Chels (mama)
